Where to stay in Orlando: Universal Orlando Hotel- Doubletree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando

Universal Orlando Hotel- DoubleTree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando

Orlando is pretty much on everyone’s list of favorite places to take a family vacation. It’s kind of our favorite perk of living in Florida because who doesn’t love a good weekend getaway? With tons to eat and do in the thriving central Florida city, it seems like the options for a good time are endless. The same is true for accommodations! There is certainly no shortage of hotels in Orlando  but if you are like me, you’re looking for the best place to stay that encompasses cost effectiveness without sacrificing the luxury of a hotel stay. Let’s sprinkle in some top- notch customer service and there you have a vacation that will not disappoint. If you’re looking to book you’re upcoming trip to Orlando, you’ll want to consider the Universal Orlando Hotel; Double Tree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando as your living quarters for the duration of your vacation and here’s why …

Where to stay in Orlando: Universal Orlando Hotel- Doubletree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando

Disclaimer: I was hosted by the Double Tree by Hilton which is an official Universal Orlando Hotel partner in exchange for an honest review of the property. However, all pictures and thoughts are my own.

The Double Tree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando is the perfect hotel for a variety of traveler’s needs. During my stay, I saw everyone from business professionals to large family groups on vacation. I also want to mention that this Doubletree has recently undergone a $25 Million- dollar renovation and let me tell you…it looks AMAZING and I wouldn’t lie, I am a bit of a hotel snob! When you walk into the hotel, you’ll notice quite a few things. First, there is tons of space in the common area to relax and wait which is perfect because check in is not until 4pm. In the main lobby you’ll find sectionals, American Grill restaurant, a UPS store, car rental services, Starbucks, the gift shop, attraction information and tickets and a glorious glass window view of the outdoor common areas which are all so comfy and offers more food choices.

Check In + Hilton Honors Benefits

Upon your 4 o’clock check in, you’ll be greeted by a warm and welcoming smile and probably one of the best cookies you’ve had in your life. You know that “home” feeling you get when visiting a grandparent? Yep! That’s the one you get inside. This is a staple of all Doubletree by Hilton hotels and if for no other reason, it’s why I prefer this brand for vacations. I would be remiss to not mention that being a Hilton Honors member has its perks too such as the points you can accumulate towards a free night stay, complimentary water, discounted rates and my husband’s favorite which is the phone app access to your room and parking gate…who needs a key anymore?

Guest Rooms

In this Doubletree, you’ll either stay in tower north or south and we have stayed in both, they are equally wonderful. The Double Tree by Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando has oversize guest rooms and I surely appreciate the space because no one wants to feel cramped with luggage in their rooms. The beds and pillows are to die sleep for (did you catch that pun) and the seating area in our rooms made me actually want to lounge there. Not only did we have a chair but there was also a sectional and ottoman. It was perfect for having guests in our room or the chill time between leaving the parks and dinner when you want to avoid falling asleep. Turns out, I’m not as youthful as I used to be!

Let’s talk about the spa like bathrooms! When you come in, it’s the first thing you notice. The bathroom has an ambiance that screamed relaxation with its low lighting and darker tones which is far from the bright and crisp tones of the rest of the hotel. I just could not wait to get into the shower! This may not be a huge deal to other people but I thought you should know that it has the PERFECT water pressure and hot water temp…it’s the small things that matter to this mama. My husband asked if I was okay a couple of times because I did not want to get out. I found myself taking unnecessary showers especially before we left to come back home. This Doubletree uses CITRON Honey and Coriander by Crabtree & EvelynÒ Bath Products and they-smell-amazing! See, the bathroom is a mini spa, you’ll absolutely love it!

Why stay at this Official Universal Orlando Hotel partner?  More Bang for Your Buck!

Perhaps my favorite thing about this Doubletree is the fact that you get resort like amenities without paying a resort fee! Just around the corner from the outdoor common area, you’ll find an oversized Jacuzzi, Olympic size swimming pool and new splash zone for the smaller members of your family. Wanna stay on property all day? No Problem! This Doubletree has 3 restaurants to meet the needs of your taste buds or a Starbucks to get you through the early morning required to beat theme park lines.  You’ll also find that they’ve essentially provided a service for all your needs.

Did too much shopping? There’s a UPS in the lobby to mail it all home.

Need a rental car? There’s an AVIS car rental on site.

Dirty Laundry? They provide same day laundry services.

Need theme park tickets? Purchase tickets for multiple Orlando attractions in the lobby. They also provide shuttle services because of their Universal Orlando Hotel partnership!

Time to work out? There’s a 24- Hour fitness center

Location, Location, Location

I am not really sure why you’re still reading, you should totally be booking your stay by now but since you’re still here let’s talk about location. Convenience sits on my top most important things about a hotel when we are booking a stay. If not, what you do save in hotel cost, you’ll spend in gas. That’s why I was pleasantly surprised that this hotel had such amazing prices even though it sits right at the entrance of Universal Studios Orlando. Because I go above and beyond for my readers, we WALKED to Universal City walk and I am happy to report that it only took 8 mins from the parking lot of the hotel to security at the entrance…yeah, it’s that close! Because they are dedicated to the safety of their guests, I got word that there will be a pedestrian bridge coming soon! It is also close enough to easily access SeaWorld, Disney World, The Outlets, I- Drive 360 and other International Drive attractions.
