#AD Seeing how the fires spread to Nevada really kicked me into gear and I knew that just having just a smoke detector that came installed in my home was not enough. My family needed a solid fire safety plan and there was no better to prepare and educate our bright 4- year old on what fire safety is while we created our action plan with @firstalert . —————- The second week of October was dubbed National Fire Prevention Week in honor of the 1871 Chicago fires. Since then, they have dedicated this time every year to raising fire safety awareness across the United States. On the blog, I’m sharing my best tips for fire safety. If it’s one thing that I believe in as a parent , it’s teaching our son how to be a good human and global citizen . I know that aligns with a lot of y’all here who follow me but know that IT STARTS AT HOME. —————-
We can’t teach our children how to be good while ignoring the things that are happening around us . He took pride in what he was doing and learned a broader perspective about what it means to use your Privilege for good for others . ——————

The @thebautistaprojectinc is a non-profit based in Tampa, Florida dedicated to ending homelessness in the Tampa Bay Area and beyond by providing basic needs and resources to the homeless community . They are some of the most selfless people we know and they dedicate a lot of their time and money to making real change in the world ——————

What has this season of sitting still taught you ?
(LIKE COMMENT SHARE SAVE this post) ——————— I’m sure that I’m not speaking for just myself when I say that this season of sitting still and not traveling has taught me a lot about procrastination. ————— We have a HUGE bucket list of destinations to visit and things that I want to do and accomplish in our personal and personal And professional lives . I know that I’m not the only one who’s said “That destination will always be there “ or that “I’ll do that thing tomorrow “. Next thing you know it , days and weeks and months have done by and NOTHING . ————- @thiswortheylife shared a quote on their IG stories a couple of days ago that shook me in my boots. In short , it mentioned not being arrogant about the time you have because God doesn’t owe you another opportunity. —————
It’s kind of what I’ve been learning during COVID. Not assuming that a destination will always be there for me to travel at free will ( just book the ticket) or not being afraid of putting out content based on what others think ( you were given these gifts to share with the world) or not being afraid to dream big then actually act on those goals ( because God doesn’t owe you more time). ————

When our son was 9
Months old, we boarded our very first @carnival cruise and traveled to @thefloridakeys & @mycozumel Mexico. It was our first time traveling outside of the country and we did it because it was a stress free way to learn to travel with a baby internationally . Honestly , that trip set the tone for our travel with kids mentality and eventually my blog was born. ————- As I’ve now been in the travel industry for years on both sides , I’m apart of numerous travel groups and conversations and I’m baffled by the amount of travel shame that people will project on others experiences . All of a sudden , cruises don’t count as international travel and where you stay or how you get there discounts your claim to being a “traveler vs tourist”. ————-
As a parent, If you’ve ever felt that the trips or experiences you’re providing your children with is not enough , I’m here to tell you that it is ENOUGH. ————- Travel is TRAVEL. Instagram and Pinterest have a nasty habit of showcasing the highlight reel and making us feel that we aren’t doing enough but a lot of times , that mentality makes it difficult for us to appreciate the experiences that we can have in our own backyard . There is a healthy balance between seeing the wonders of the world and exploring a local area that you would have otherwise overlooked. If you’re having a staycation or cruising or staying in a neighboring state or flying to another country .... ITS ALL TRAVEL and you and your family will be much better for any experience you’ve gained wherever it may have occurred . The only alternative is waiting to be able to afford that special trip only to realize that time and life has passed you by . —————— Have you ever been travel shamed ? Viva Las Vegas !! 🌵 The last few weeks and months have been such a whirlwind for us . Moving and traveling during Covid have been such an interesting experience and while 2020 has been filled with many disappointments ; we’ve equally had good times and blessings . ——————- We’ve shared here our road trip from Missouri to Las Vegas on Route 66 but I’m finally able to share that we’ve closed on our Las Vegas Home !! ———————- We’re officially Las Vegas locals and excited to spend the next two years exploring the West Coast and hopefully crossing more states off of our #roadto50states journey . —————— If you live on the west coast or have traveled , what are some of your can’t miss destinations?
